Starting with the balanced resonance and accented high-mid-range of a solid alder body - the optimum choice for a bass - the robust foundation of the NJS4 is amplified with vintage warmth and clarity by a set of Voiced Tone VTB-ST single-coils with a hum-cancelling design to counter unwanted noise.

The Cort Elrick NJS Bass: Passive & Active

The Cort Elrick NSJS4 has been fitted with the same Bartolini preamp as the original American-made Elick basses. This high-grade preamp comes with volume and blend controls as well as a three-band EQ section and two push-pull switches for selecting the mids and bypassing the active circuit: in-depth controls that grant access to a mighty tonal array. Polished off with the outstanding vibrational transfer of a solid MetalCraft M-bridge with deeply grooved saddles, when it comes to the sound, every single detail has been considered.

Supreme Playing Comfort

A special joint binds the neck to the body via six bolts secured in an asymmetrical pattern to enhance stability, while the heel-less design and ultra-deep lower cutaway allow unhindered access to the highest of the twenty-four frets. Both the neck and fretboard have been carved out of Canadian maple, which has a naturally high density to help shape excellent note definition and set this bass up to support slap techniques. Open notes sound just as clean and consistent as fretted notes thanks to the zero fret installed just after the bone nut, and as the tasty cherry on top, a set of Hipshot Ultralite 20:1 ratio tuners have been fitted. These innovative tuners are 30% lighter than standard to complete a perfectly balanced and supremely comfortable instrument.
